 I have been experimenting with candle wax and wax crayon. I love the way the melted wax makes the paper translucent emphasising the colour. 

New term, new blog!

 New term, new work. The first set of workshops are coming to an end. Moving and still image not really my thing, but I found you can sew anything even a film! It did get stuck in the projector though! This started out as a photogram.

Not the best photos, but this is my final display. Can't wait to see everyone's work in the final exhibition.

The bluebells in our local woods are so beautiful at the moment I couldn't resist one last visit with my sculptures.

FINAL STAGES

The final stages of the final project is upon us and I must consider how to show my work in the studio??????? I have been having trouble visualising it and my attempt at drawing out my idea was a disaster. Ideally I would like to display my sculptures in the woods that inspired them, but this is not really realistic, so I am going to try and 'Bring the outdoors in' I have been playing around with ideas this morning.

I have been experimenting with living willow. It has been soaking for about four weeks and now has well developed roots. I planted the roots in my garden and wove the branches. I have started to crochet onto the structure.

Now that my blog finally has some pictures of my work, I thought I would try and explain the thoughts behind my work. I have been trying to make moss inspired textile sculptures, that I have then been photographing in my local woods.

I have been making sculptures using textiles inspired by the marvellous moss that seems to be everywhere . I have been taking them into the local woods to photograph.
